Sunseeker London Directors, David Lewis and Christopher Head, invited clients to shoot in the glorious grounds of Highclere Castle yesterday in support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation, a charity which both David and Christopher have supported for many years. Nestled within the 7,000 acres of the country estate that is now synonymous with Downton Abbey, guests at the Starlight Shooting Challenge took part in a 1,000 “bird” clay pigeon shoot over 5 drives, with each stand replicating a different species of game bird.
Arriving at 8.45am for registration and breakfast in the Great Dining Room, guests then departed to their allocated drives, enjoying the varied sporting stands. Lunch was served at 2.45pm in Highclere’s infamous Library, with speeches taking place ahead of Starlight’s Charity Auction. Guests then enjoyed a quintessentially English afternoon tea on the picturesque lawns before departing for the day.
The Starlight Shooting Challenge is one of the main events of its kind for the foundation, from which it hopes to raise £250,000 to help grant wishes for seriously and terminally ill children in hospitals and hospices through the UK.
