Exclusive images of new Sunseeker 86 Yacht during interior “mock-up” design phase

The Sunseeker London Group made a special visit to the Sunseeker International shipyard recently to check the progress of the new 86 Yacht in build, ahead of her launch this Spring.

Many people don’t realise the extent of planning that goes into the production of a Sunseeker motor yacht. At the Sunseeker International Technological Centre, where thousands of in-house processes take place from custom lamination to electrical ream wiring, the design teams produce a full-size wooden mock-up of a new Sunseeker model before it enters the production phase. Not only does this allow the design to be visualised, but it gives both client and broker the opportunity to get a true feel for the yacht’s interior space.

The Saloon of the 86 Yacht is designed to create a “large yacht” feel. Similar to the 28 Metre, the new addition to the Yacht range will incorporate structural wrap-around glass windows and an optional balcony, both of which will filter plenty of natural light into the main deck and offer panoramic views from the Saloon. The open plan layout also adds to the very spacious feel. Guests can relax in the Lounge area to the aft, which is furnished with copious amounts of seating. The centralised Dining Area (seen below) is more akin to the largest yachts of the Sunseeker range, seating 8 guests around the table comfortably.

The Galley of the 86 Yacht is different to anything we have seen before, featuring a breakfast bar for a more informal dining option. Its open nature is inviting and offers the Owner an alternative area for entertaining.

As and when required however, the space can also be fully closed off for culinary preparation by a sliding door arrangement.

The 86 Yacht’s accommodation has also been designed with space in mind. Luxurious, large and importantly en-suite, 4 Guest Cabins are cleverly positioned on the Lower Deck to maximise the yacht’s layout. The Forward VIP Cabin has its own separate access and lobby, which not only offers more private accommodation, but also allows for the Master Cabin to be brought to Midships due to the additional staircase.

Located at the quietest and most stable part of the boat, away from the engine bulkhead, the Owner’s Cabin promises ultimate comfort with an aft facing King Size double bed, generous dressing room, vanity table and seating area.

The expansive hull windows, which stretch from the Aft Twin Guest Cabins to the Master Ensuite, will illuminate the Lower Deck and provide uninhibited views of the yacht’s surroundings.

The Aft Twin Guest Cabins, located to Port and Starboard, offer flexible accommodation for all guest arrangements – friends, couples, families – as the single beds can convert to doubles as and when desired.

Each accompanied by an en-suite bathroom with full size shower, sink and WC, Guest Cabins onboard the 86 Yacht are extremely well-appointed.

The upcoming release of the 86 Yacht is a very exciting one for Sunseeker. Introducing new concepts and state-of-the-art technology, the model will particularly revolutionise longer distance cruising. Equipped with an 11,000 litre fuel tank and a newly designed hull, which offers a more stable ride at slower speeds due to a flattened stern, the 86 Yacht has a phenomenal cruising range of 1500 NM at 10 knots, with a possible maximum speed of 31 knots. Promising cruising and performance, space and luxury, the 86 Yacht truly offers the best of all Worlds!
