Eat: Le Michelangelo, 3 Rue des Cordiers, 06600, Vieil Antibes

The World-renowned Le Michelangelo restaurant in Antibes old town attracts stars and celebrities during the Cannes Film Festival and throughout the summer season. Whilst reservations can be challenging during peak season, the winter months prove more sedate and the restaurant reveals its warmth and cosy atmosphere, sending us right back in time to when Antibes was but a small fishing village on the Riviera.

Located behind the city walls and ramparts of Antibes, le Michelangelo is Mamo’s Kingdom… Chef Mamo is an artist, curating the warmth of the South of France and all of the style of the Mediterranean in his delectable food.

Seated in an old wine cellar, built of old stones full of history, diners can indulge in exquisite seafood, from an excellent risotto of calamari to a “Polipo” octopus salad. The famous “Spalla d’Agnello” (lamb shoulder grilled on a wood fire), rabbit with herbs (grilled on a wood fire) or “Saltimbocca Romana” (veal escalope with Parma ham and Emmental cheese). For dessert the Tiramisu and Amaretto crème brulée are to die for.
