From floating restaurants and marina-side bars to centrally located luxury boutique hotels, Sunseeker Southampton reveal their top picks of where to Eat, Drink & Sleep in Hampshire this week. Read on to discover more…
EAT: The Ferry Restaurant, The Elephant Boatyard, Lands End Road, Old Bursledon, Hampshire, SO31 8DN
Perhaps one of the most unique dining venues to feature in our Eat, Drink, Sleep collections, The Ferry Restaurant in Old Bursledon was once the Woolston Floating Bridge.

Historically used to cross the River Itchen between Woolston and Southampton, the Woolston Ferry has latterly been transformed into a characterful floating restaurant at its permanent home at The Elephant Boatyard.

Taking advantage of its quirky nature, The Ferry Restaurant utilises its exterior space, with outside seating allowing guests to take full advantage of the beautiful views and peaceful surroundings on a lovely Hampshire summer’s evening. Should you prefer a table inside, the interiors have been simply converted with a charming nautical feel.

Together with owner Deborah Ford and her team, French trained Head Chef Anthony Guichard crafts his dishes using local and seasonal produce. From lunchtime Mezze sharing platters, sandwiches and freshly prepared Calamari provençale to A la Carte Roquefort cheese soufflé and pork tenderloin, classic French dishes are complemented by beautiful fresh ingredients.
