Running a business the size of Sunseeker London Group, is a full time job consisting of many hours, long days, endless flights, transfers, boat movements, logistics, meetings, and contracts. Today, we spend 5 minutes with Christopher Head, Group Sales Director who has experienced a busy week of boat sales during the highly active #SunseekerSummer!
Christopher Head, Group Sales Director of Sunseeker London Group comments, “Yes, the hours are long and I travel a lot, but seeing a happy customer with a new, or used, Sunseeker motor yacht makes it all worthwhile. Our clients work around the clock and so do we!”
Monday
On Monday morning, Christopher Head left home at 5AM to drive to the Sunseeker shipyard in Poole, to meet with clients who recently purchased a Sunseeker 115 Sport Yacht. The yacht’s build process is close to finish and the clients with their guests were delighted with the progress.
Christopher Head enjoyed a delicious lunch at Hotel du Vin which is a boutique hotel and bistro located a short walk from the Sunseeker Poole sales office and service department.
After Chris’ clients departed, Chris had a sales meeting with the team in Poole, learning about their new ideas, client sale progress and future events. After the meetings, Chris drove home (which takes around 3 hours) and prepared for the following day.
Tuesday
An early morning start today – 4AM to be precise! Christopher Head flew to Faro, Portugal, to look at a new potential office in Vilamoura with Sales Director of Sunseeker Spain, Richard Tilley. Upon arriving at 09.20, local time, Chris and Richard were collected by our Portuguese associates and drove to the marina where the new offices are to be situated.
After a few hours of meetings, Christopher encouraged a walk around the beautiful Marina de Vilamoura and enjoyed a light lunch at Restaurante O Cesteiro.
Meetings concluded and Christopher and Richard flew safely back to London.
Wednesday
Christopher Head departed from Stansted to arrive in Nice, France, to hold a sales meeting with Sunseeker France Group in preparation for the Cannes Boat Show (8th – 13th September).
Supported by Lindsay Hutchinson, Commercial Director who is based in the South of France, Christopher travelled to all four offices along the Cote D’Azur brainstorming ideas for future events, boat shows and client boating updates. There is always plenty to do, especially in France where as Sunseeker France Group have four devoted offices and attentive sales teams with a large After Sales and Warranty service division.
Christopher Head flew back from Nice to Stansted , which he found very pleasant as he was sat next to a Sunseeker London Group client who had enjoyed a relaxing time on board his Sunseeker during the week. Always wearing a Sunseeker branded item of clothing creates a great conversation starter.
Christopher Head, finally arrived back home – straight to bed for another busy day ahead!
Thursday
In the small hours of the morning Christopher Head left his home to travel to Gatwick for a 05.40 flight to Palma, Mallorca.
Chris was meeting with one of our existing Sunseeker clients to discuss the purchase of a large motor yacht. Christopher was accompanied by Sean Robertson of Sunseeker International and they both enjoyed explaining to the client new ways of working with Sunseeker in the future and gained a greater perspective of super yachts within the larger yacht industry.
Christopher and Sean drove a short distance from Palma Airport to San Antonio de la Playa Marina where they were collected by the client’s chase boat and chauffeured to the yacht.
The meeting went very well and the end result promises a spectacular motor yacht!
Friday
Christopher Head travelled to Malaga, Spain for meetings with Martyn Skelton of Sunseeker Andalucia who has some ideas of creating a outstanding client event for clients in Southern Spain. After discussing the event, both Martyn and Christopher walked around the marina and visited some of our clients who berth locally to ask how they are and if there is anything that they can be of assistance with.
After a very pleasant day, Christopher Head flew back to London and arrived at home to see his family, hoping to cycle with his son, Alex, over the course of the weekend, who are both currently training for the Prudential RideLondon.
