The Cancer charity ‘Cogs4Cancer’ held its latest cycling event in October. This years ride stretched over a distance of 950km and took place over a course of five days.
Starting in Barcelona, Spain, and finishing in Antibes, France, 24 cyclists who are all connected to the yachting industry, participated in the full ride. Fifty cyclists also joined a ride around Barcelona at the beginning of the five day event, and an additional 100 joined to ride the last part of the course into Antibes.
Ben Young, MD of Sunseeker Superyacht Management and President of ‘Cogs4Cancer’ explains the founding of the charity, “Cogs 4 Cancer was founded by a group of like minded people, all with links to the yachting industry after one of our close friends developed a brain tumor. The vision was to develop a charity that the whole of the yachting industry could get behind and support.”
Having raised more than €304,000 in 2015 alone, with all of the proceeds going towards the charity, ‘Cogs4Cancer’ are continuing to work tirelessly in raising money to fight Cancer.
